This weekend in Irving, TX, seven members of Texas Upsilon attended the SigEp Carlson Leadership Academy Conference. The Brothers in attendance were Jack Gold, Scotty Latimer, Jed Meisner, Chip Holmes, Dan Sexton, Dekkers Barr, and myself.
This event is hosted by the national SigEp Organization, in which brothers from chapters all across the Southwest convene to learn and collaborate new strategies to improve their chapters. Filled with various meetings, presentations, and award ceremonies, the conference took place over the span of two days.
Each executive officer of our chapter was able to work alongside other brothers who hold the same title. We were able to touch on the responsibilities, goals, and challenges of our respective positions while working towards a place in which we were able to leave our meetings with a new outlook on ways to improve our leadership abilities.
From this event, we as a chapter now strive to create new approaches to outreach and involvement, push ourselves to further improvement, and implement the leadership lessons we learned into our daily lives.
